I work in car sales and have access to the Glass' Guide and £16k sounds just about right.
Harsh.
I've taken a £5k hit on my WRX PPP in the past 2 months.

Well I have only really just bought my 02 STI got it for £13000, looked pretty much everywhere and the prices tend to vary, I couldn't find any blob eye STI's for under £17000 really, and most of the bug eye STI's were going for well over £13000 ie up to the £15000 mark, Just look on the auto trader website. The WRX's tend to lose a lot more value though.
Dealers are **** heads at the end of the day, they will always offer you a crap price, if you really want an EVO I would sell your car privately then go and get an EVO, like some one else has said why on earth people buy new cars I will never know, I would much rather wait until they are a couple of years old and bag a bargin!!
Any way why would you want an EVO, they are not a nice place to sit in, even alll the experts Tiff, jezza etc.. say they prefer the Scoob!

Dealers are offering up to 23% off 05 Impreza's and Legacy's in order to make room for the 06 models.
Hence I was offered 17k tops for my 9 month old Spec B (27k new) in p/x on a new Isuzu Rodeo, naturally I told them to shove the Rodeo and I'm going to run the Spec B for another 2 years and ride out the depreciation.
PS, I'll give you 16k for that rattly old STi.

We aint talking about wrx's here tho.the thread is about the new my05 sti which is very differnt to the my04 sti unlike the wrx there is no change.
Hence the intrest in the my05 sti because it whoops evo's allday long and has alot more to offer then the wrx.
you cant compare wrx prices to sti's

I think its more to do with the sheer volume of imported Scoobs - especially wrxs

YOU NEED A RETHINK AN AN OPPORTUNITY TO DRIVE AN EVO 6
Think its time you drove an Evo 6 mate. Had a 5 and a 6 and currently got a 366BHP STI MY02 Believe me the Evo's inspire so much more confidence than Scoobys. Dont get me wrong I effing love my Scoob but active YAW nails the road like superglue. Think its time you respected technology and appreciated it as oppose to being so narrow minded.
Just coz you got a Scoob doesn't mean everything else is inferior

I think you need to drive the new my05 sti,i have had a 7,8 fq300 and a 8mr 340, these machines are much more superior then the 6, trust me when i say the sub is better.
It is much more of a drivers car.
I think its time you apperciate the my05 sti and get yourself booked in for a test drive.
Eny scoob untill the my05 STI are sh#t apart from the spec c and the s202.

You can check the glass' price on their website for £2.95 to see how accurate the dealers offer was, but £16k sounds about right. I know the thread was about the STi, but I can tell you as a fact that a 2005 WRX on a 54 plate with approx 7k miles, books at £14500 on trade in.
Add a couple of grand for STi.
I'm off tomorrow, but I'll have a look on tuesday at work and I'll get the trade in price for you if you want.
And for P1 owners, you'll get about £10k on trade in if your car is in mint condition.

£14k for the P1 ?
Take it. Thats a good offer. I had someone in looking to trade theirs in. We had to phone round a couple of Subaru dealers for an underwrite and the best price we could get him was £10k.
