Question Jap import - PPP Kit?

Hi Everyone,

I have just bought a second hand jap import 04 plate WRX... UK spec - I need to know if Subaru UK will install a PPP kit or do I have to go elsewhere?

there would be no point on the PPP for an import in my opinion
Take it to TSL Motorsport for their 333 package or something similar

I believe you have to go to.......Japan.

IIRC PPP can only be installed in the country of origin - though it may be different for EU Parallel Imports.

Mines an import - had the downpipe Cat removed, STi panel filter and TEK 3 Map. Cheaper and I would imagine as good if not better than a PPP. Plus it's now mapped for UK fuel which is one less thing to worry about.

Obviously you wouldn't do it to a UK one under warranty but you don't have that problem.

Isn't that for the STi only? Not sure it would be that easy to get a WRX to that kind of power.

Seeing as the vehicle needs to be re-mapped to suit UK fuel, then an ECU-Tek is the answer. Especially so when you consider that the JDM cars has a quoted output (250PS) approaching what the PPP is claimed to deliver anyway.....

Simon

Having re-read the original post; you cant get a UK-Spec Japanese import can you?

I missed that to!

You need to confirm exactly what you have to get the correct advice.... But it can be quite confusing. Mines a Type Euro 20K......... whatever that means. Definitely a Jap import though.

Been into my local dealer enquiring about PPP earlier today mate, and the Service Manager mentioned, in passing, that Subaru will not supply a PPP for any customer with an Import.

Sorry to rain on your parade mate, but that`s exactly what I was told.

My dealer is Riding and Co., in Preston, Lancs, BTW.
