Exclamation Subaru advice

Some advice please,

I've driven a BMW for years and loved every minute of it, i'm now in a position to change my car and have shortlisted either an E36 M3 or a Scooby.

A know a fair bit about BM's but bugger all about Subaru's, I can't afford a new car it would be about £8-9 grand, what should I look out for when looking at these, are engines a problem at higher mileage (whats this about no.3 piston that i've been reading on other threads).

Also imports, are there dissadvantages when it comes to getting parts or insuring these and why do most of them have very low mileages, do the Japs only drive their cars on a Sunday or are they clocked because most brits cant read the Jap service history.

Any advice would be appreciated.
