Default pissed off

i just picked up my first scooby today. an 01 bugeye with prodrive etc. anway, i only had the car for 3 hrs and i have had to take it back. I was driving around when a raher unpleasant noise started. I thought at first it sounded like a fan belt slipping, but then i discovered that the noise happened whenever i turned the steering wheel even slightly out of dead straight. The garage where i got if from reckon it is just a shim on one of the front brakes, because they had just services it yesterday and fitted new pads to the front, hope thats all it is.

Also, as I was taking to a friend the car was just idling, when I noticed the temperature gauge was almost of the scale, as soon as I started driving it it dropped straight away. But I don't recall hearing the fan cutting in. Could this just have been an air lock in the system? im going to mention this to the garage tomorrow and get them to have a look at if for me. I know it was not normal because the WRX they have lent me for the weekend does not raise in temperature even if I leave it idling for ages.

So...my first experiences of owning a scooby are not good, 3hrs into owning one, it's back in the workshop.

Really pissed me off.

Steve

theres nothing wrong with the way my morettes look on my MY01 wrx, but ive just had them fitted so i would say that. But it does look loads better with morettes so i would get a pair if your new one hasn't got them on already. Silver is the way to go m8

They look better but a bit unoriginal. STI lights are the way to go, but Prodrive ones will do!

My theory is the metallic particles increase aerodynamic drag, so you need a solid colour. Mind you I could be talking complete and utter bo**o%*s

And I've got a metallic blue car so actually the facts are that the metallic particles break the air flow thus reducing drag

about that noise, if its a high pitched squeal then it could be the passenger side brake pad shim that gets bent and caused a noise in my 01 WRX about a week after I changed the pads so hopefully nothing to worry about there

(Blues fastest )
