Question Got a classic Impreza with sliding heater controls? Read this!

Hi,

I've posted a couple of threads recently and trawled the search facility to try to find a triple gauge pod for my MY97. I'm not keen on triple a-pillar pods or the ones which sit 'on top' of the dash - they just look out of place to me.

Then I saw this one , which is made by Milsport :

Which was exactly what I wanted - except my (MY97 UK) centre vent looks like this:

I spoke to Milsport and they don't make one which replaces the heater controls I have .

But..... I have been speaking to Milsport again and they have had 2 other enqueries this week for a pod with sliding controls.

Therefore, if enough people indicate that they would be interested in this product (if one was available), then they will be willing to manufacture it!

So, who would be interested? I think this looks way better than any other efforts I've seen as it looks like a factory fit! Please indicate below if you would be interested:

you mean the vents not the controls i take it? cos I offered a gauge up to my rotary control hole and it was a perfect fit... I was sorely tempted to buy a heated front screen I can tell you...

No he means the control section of the panel in which the vents are also situated.
The JDM cars have three round rotary switches the UK spec cars have two rotary switches and slider controls,.

Yes as Ralph says - same design as the current Milsport one, but for the slider controls. Using my extraordianry paintshop skills I knocked this up to show what it would look like (roughly):

Unfortunately, Subaru only used these controls for a limited time (96-97?) so it is probably one of the rarer dash layouts. But I reckon there must be enough around to get some interest?

wouldn't you be better getting some carbon fibre sheet to fit the two holes with a 52mm circle in each one? with a bit of fettling i reckon you could get it looking amazing...

edit: or change your controls to rotary ones - it can't be that hard surely?

Looks like I'll be going for an 'F-16' style triple A pillar pod then

Cheers mate, but same problem as the Milsport one, re: slider controls - see pics above!

J
p.s. I prefer the design of the Milsport one - recessed gauges look better
