its a 4 door saloon as far as i can see....it will be 225ps (222bhp) unless it states that it has been PPP's which means a power increase to 265ps (261bhp) and about 257lbft torque.

anything else you wanna know? (i have one so can help )

just noticed the number plate on the front being square....

if its a jap import WRX then it will be 250ps as standard. i "think" it has shorter gearing too making 0-60 do-able in a shade under 5 seconds (book fig)

Ah, now your talking! Especially as you have one...

Heres the rest of the ad from the Auto Trader....

2003SUBARU Impreza 310 BHP WRX,
03 reg. 30000 miles, lowered body , Subaru alloys, 2 litre turbo charged, CD, air con, ABS, SIPS, front spoilers, sports exhaust+ dump valve, r/c/l, alarm + immobiliser, race bucket seats, 1 yrs MoT, any px considered, please no test pilots or timewasters. £10,995. px con, ono.
I have spoken to the seller (I'm going to view tomorrow) and it is defo a grey import, i questioned the fact its so cheap - he said its his mates and he wants rid of..

Anything else you can tell me spec wise?

Whats ins like? And all the other worries that go with grey imports? Should i be worried?

well it will be very far from standard is he claims its 310bhp (so its pretty impossible to tell you what the spec will be!).....if you ask him what the mods are carefully, as it would most likely have had the turbo changed to get that kind of power. If he says it hasnt had a turbo change then i doubt very much that its got 310

I own a MY03 WRX UK so can't help on the grey import side. I am 30 ish and use A Plan for insurance around £600 with £500 excess. You may need a tracker for some insurance companies.

You can get 315 bhp from a UK spec WRX with the following mods:

Decat exhaust + New Headers + Top Mount Intercooler for an STI one or other bespoke + Remap

or Decat exhaust, Panel Filter, VF30 turbo + remap.

11k is a good price but be careful of the "selling for a friend", why can't your friend sell it.

Good luck

Nick
