Default 30k service

Hi,

My MY01 wrx is due a 30k service now, so i was wondering what i should be looking to pay for a 30k service.

Any advise will be appreciated. eg. service at dealer/private costs etc.

ps. I am based in preston lancashire.

Been quoted £390 by Subaru Mansfield for my MY03 STi, due in 1000 miles

Are dealers the best for this service or are there any independants who can do as well but are cheaper/better?

Prosport are authorised but independent. They are cheaper. Phone them on 0161-432 9999 or see their website which shows service costs.

Independent will be cheaper and I like the fact that you can usually watch the work being done and chat a bit ( without getting in the way ) to the fellas doing the work. I hate main dealers taking my car away round the back and "we'll call you when its ready". I believe it is a myth that authorised dealer must carry out services for your warranty to be intact. As long as the garage you choose is a vat registered business should be fine.
