Question WRX?

Here goes. I have an MY94 Impreza. I know its technically a wrx but most that I've seen have the sort of red tiger stripe ish trim on the seats. The thing is, AFAIK mine is a later spec interior. See pics below:

Sorry bout the picture quality, i do decide to do stuff at the last minute, and in the dark.

Also, my cars got an alloy bonnet, well I assume it has since a magnet won't stick to it.

My question is this, might it be an early STI, no indication on log book of this, or has the original oriental owner fitted these parts?

Will post some better interior pics when theres daylight but your help is much appreciated.

Michael.

Default ya motor

post sept/oct 1994 wrx saloons shud have the gray alcantara and blue flec interior , also, rear quarter mounted ariel, z5, ecu, all classic shape wrx saloons were originally built with alloy bonnets etc, but then again it just depends on when the car was built and first reg'd in the land of the yalla fella and if any of the prev owners have made any changes etc cheers

early STIs were taken off the line (as WRXs obviously) and modified by STI. they have the same model code as WRXs (and STI RAs have WRX RA model code).

If it has variable speed intermitant wipers then it is a Mk1 phase 2 260 ps version. If not then maybee it is just a Mk1 phase 1 240 ps version with new seats. Also check the writing on the ecu. That will tell you. Phase 2 had the z4 ecu. (not z5 - that was from the ra - i think)

The trim on my door cards matches the main seat fabric, not the inserts. It doesn't show up on the pic tho.

Look at your v5c (log book), the chassis number is shorter on a JDM car I think its about 8-10 digits where as a uk model is 14-16 iirc.

BTW dont post you chassis number on the net
