Filling up in Calais
#1
At the moment you can take a car over from Dover to Calais after 6.30pm, midweek for £15 return.
The saving on filling up at french prices covers the ferry fare and you can stock up on booze and **** too!!
You only have to stay a couple of hours and could be back before midnight.
Worth considering if the fuel crisis continues and you live near the south coast.

Just what I did last week with Eurotunnel.
Only £13 after 6pm, return before 2am (book online).
I had a nice meal and 1 1/2 hours for shopping before Cite Europe closed at 10pm French time.
Beer - less than £3 for 24x25cl bottles in Carrefour.
Stella - £4 for 24x25cl bottles at the Eurotunel shop.
Oil - shell helix £13 for 5L.
Petrol - about 65p a litre.
If only everything cost the same in 'rip-off' Britain !
Kevin.
