Since my PPP was done on my 52 Bugeye WRX my fuel economy has been awsome. Before I was getting about 26mpg now is over 30, is this normal?

During the running in period on my first scoob, i got nearly 400 miles before the light came on to fill up, so thats pretty good with 350 new car does 250 on a long run to approx 50ltrs.

These figures seem pretty good. I drove from Hull to Exeter in my '03 wrx on one tank, over 350 miles. Is everyone aware that the tank is actually 60 litres capacity in new age car and when fuel light comes on you still have 10 litres left.

I believe pslewis is still on same the tank of petroleum oil as when he bought his car. Sadly though he is bracing himself for a trip to the new fangled self service filling stations within the next year or so.

Well I just worked out my mpg for the first time yesterday on my 05 STi uk PPP. Had it now 2 months. Thought it was pretty crap. I was right I'm getting 15.6mpg. That's taking it easy going to work (why rush) and then giving it a bit on the way back. I think I'll start to take it a bit easier from now on, unless I'm in a rush or having fun. At today's prices 15.6mpg seam's a little expensive for just going to work & back. Must take it easier.
Having said that I never got over 20mpg in my Focus RS.
It's these bloody shoes. I swear they have lead in them.

Mike Wood has stated on previous posts that PPP improves mpg on long runs. However since i got the PPP, the mpg has gone down.
But I get everywhere much quicker

Had a good back road drive the other night combined with 50 miles of sensible driving on my 02 STI and £40 of fuel got me 200 miles. Think thats about 20 mpg so not bad for the fun i had

I got exactly 200 miles to 43 quid of optimax last week. That was 80% sensible driving, hardly any boost etc. Surely thats pants, although iv come to expect nothing more ? should i get more miles then ??
what could this be down to ?

Maybe an adjustable boost **** would help when in search of max mpg, ie full and no boost.
Trouble is it would always be on FULL
How slow is a scoob with no boost at all? anyone driven a broken one?

My best four averages so far hover around 32MPG on my UK WRX Bugeye without really trying - which is when the mileage between fills is composed of longer runs of mixed driving, including motorways, A roads, towns, lanes but always using sensible use of the boost when it's worth doing and avoiding pointless acceleration, then having to brake hard a few seconds later.
When the ratio of stop-start and short journeys has increased, my worst has been down to 24MPG.
One of these days, I am going to try - just the once mind - for the big 40MPG. Somehow I don't think it's possible - not least because I'll probably die of boredom keeping to 60MPH and never going over 2400RPM - which some would say is not good for the engine anyway.
