Hi All,
Passing Junction ?? (A34) on the M4 this morning, Eastbound at about 0630.
Two Scoobies, one white and one dark blue (I think) and and EVO6 in white and a dark coloured Supra. Anyway joined the motorway here and gave it large until I lost sight of them.
Great sight, four nice cars on an empty motorway doing well over a ton in the fast lane (but well spaced). As they travelled off into distance, there was serious flamage from the EVO.
Who were these people, and more important, where did they get fuel for that ??
I expected to see them a few miles later at the side of the road begging for fuel, but no
Of course, I stayed with them in my Avis Astra 1.6
(P.S. This is not condoning excessive speed etc. blah blah)
Cheers
Ian

Fast lane?
I could be wrong but I think the speed limit is the same in all the lanes. Volvo drivers think the 'fast lane' is for over 50mph, the middle lane for 'cruising' and the 'slow' lane for 'other people'!
If the motorway was empty what the hell were they doing in the offside lane (or 'fast lane') anyway???

Colin, get over it, many, many people in this country call it the "fast lane".
No amount of moaning about it will change it.
Personally, I tend to call it the "Licence Removal Lane" on the M4 because the minimum speed of the outside lane tends to be about 100mph at that time in the morning.
Aero, I agree, if you are going to speed like a fruitcake, get away from the other traffic. Deffo. the most dangerous drivers are the ones that do over a ton but keep switching lanes at that speed and pass other cars in adjacent lanes at well over 30mph speed difference.
Cheers

Personally when doing 'speed' on an empty m/way I stick to the slow lane....oops....lane 1 ! This way you have one lane (ok, hard shoulder) on the left and two lanes on your right, just in case evasive action is required all your options are open.
How off topic is all this anyhow ?? Sorry !
Neil.

Ian,
You prefer to say "giving it large in the fast lane", whereas the class one's in the unmarked behind you would probably say "making very rapid progress in the 3rd lane"... Hum.
Moray
(Who wouldn't mind a 1.6 astra at the moment...)

Tis true MM.
You can have the Astra if you want, I've dumped it down the lane for Avis to come and pick up and has still got 1/4 of a tank
Cheers
