As per my reply MTR's original thread, I've just voted and the results chart seems to indicate that I voted the other way.
Is there a problem?

It's a fix!
It's like when I took the Pepsi challenge and chose Coca Cola. They wrote to me a few days later thanking me for choosing Pepsi!!!!!
Seriously though, is there a problem?
If the vote goes to yes, what level of censorship will it be? Webmasters or Morays view on what is acceptable may not be the same as mine, Josh or MTR, and we can't agree on what's acceptable!! If its no, then does that open us up for pictures of people ******** in Subarus?
Just remember that free expression is one of the priveleges of living in a western democracy. Delete stuff that breaks the law, by all means, but allow the adults to decide what they see, and to vet what their children see.
Geezer

Oops, Simon Posted as I was writing originally, I said that when the graph was the other way round (ie Yes we should be a Nanny State)

I've just voted for NO censorship because I believe we should all be capable of posting only relevant material in an appropriate form.
Furthermore, I cannot imagine how any method of censorship would actually work. How many times do we see four letter words spelled using digits instead of letters in order to avoid the swear box?
A small thing perhaps, but a good example of how hard it is to create a watertight system.

Hmm. Tough one!
I think we've got it about right as it is - responsible posting, with the BBS as a whole being able to comment on the boundaries of taste, and the moderators/webmaster deal with what crosses it, or is irrelevant.
It looked to me like the case in question would have been resolved fairly quickly & quietly with a mail straight to Simon..although since it's brought the whole subject into the open it's probably for the best in the long run.
I wonder if an explicit censorship policy also risks putting that "we bear no responsibility for the content" disclaimer in doubt - anyone an expert on that sort of thing?
(because, if you have a policy, it implies you approve ifof anything you don't censor)
