Default Scoob making odd noise, can someone help?!

Hi Guys,

Just noticed this over the last couple of days and it's a little odd to say the least.

When I start the ignition, I hear a single 'muffled metallic thud' sound, sorry don't know how else to explain it. it's not LOUD, but it's loud enough to be noticable. It only happens a single time when the engine is started. Let me try and explain...

1) Key in ignition
2) turn key... get the usual one or two 'che che' sound as the starter turns over.
3) VROOM!engine starts - right at this point there is this single thud sound
4) engine ticks over.

Dont hear the sound during tick over, of under acceleration, it's purely at the point the engine turns over and starts.

Any idea's? Just seems a little odd. Hopefully it's nothing to worry about but not heard it before in 3 years of owning my scoob!

Could be a dodgy engine mount, causing the engine to hit something as it fires up.

Tried starting it with the clutch in? Could be release bearing starting to go and only showing up with the sudden jolt of the engine starting.

Just had a new clutch on mine for a similiar noise although the noise was there even after starting and idling the engine.
