Default The definitive answer wanted

Can any body out there tell me why is it that on some early JDM STi and WRX classic scoobs there seemed to be no uniformity as to where the aerial was sited.
I have seen it on the "A" post on 93's,94's,95's etc then on the nearside back wing on some models of the same years and then back on the "A" post again for later years.
Was it that some were destined to be motorsport shells or is it a case of Subaru using whatever they had at the time as they often did with the engines ie RA closed deck blocks turning up in ordinary WRX's etc.
