Anyone ever been to Gozo for a Holiday?

Yup. It is a nice place (much nicer than Malta), although becoming a little over developed. Couple of sandy beaches, and many rocky coves.
Bit of a pain in the **** to get to though. Fly to Malta then bus/taxi to the ferry port. Approx 2-3 hour (IIRC) ferry crossing to Gozo.

We are regular visitors to Malta,Gozo & Comino & are off to Comino for 10 days in September.Although there is a bus service I would advise you to hire a car on Gozo to go native. They drive on the left (most of the time) like we do & it's such a small island you can't really get lost.
I love my snorkelling.
And so does he.

'twas a few years ago (more that 10!), so maybe they have faster ferries now As I recall, we arrived in Malta at around midnight, and had to sit around at the ferry port until the first boat to Gozo at around 5:00am, so the whole journey was a bit of a blur (and one I'd quite like to forget). Also, when we arrived in Gozo, there were no taxis, just busses (the first ferry appeared to carry mainly workers, travelling from Malta to Gozo to work in the fields).
However, on the up-side, when we got onto one of the busses, and offered the driver ten Maltese pounds (having no idea how cheap the bus fares actually were), he loaded on our suitcases and drove us to our villa, ignoring every bus stop on the way! It wasn't until the next day we discovered that you could travel from one end of teh island to the other by bus for about 10p!
