which part of the exhaust system is this??

it looks stainless steel, its an original subaru part off a MY02 wrx

Yep new age front de-cat pipe, I'd say it is the Prodrive part fitted as part of the PPP because I believe they are the only ones to stick that small bracket on towards the front so you can bolt the original heat sheild back on, the aftermarket boys don't seem to bother with that....
