Actually that's within the range of punishments handed out to normal mortals. It looks like his lawyer persuaded the magistrates to trade some of his ban for a higher fine.

I got 1 week ban and £780 plus costs. I pleaded for a short ban, and look at the impact!! (Doing 105mph on the M4)

3 week ban!?!?!?

I recieved 5 points (leadning to a 6 month ban for going over 12 points)and a fine of £150 for 46mph in a 30.

I know my driving history was a bit sketchy but an officer of the law should be leading by example surely?!

Ben

PS that was over 4 years ago though so my license is clean now!

I reckon he got the same as what everyone else would have got, and if this is the same incident im thinking about, he was treated slightly less harsh because he's a police helicopter pilot, and they used the card that he is vital to the police force...

Fare enough in my eye's...

Shimy.

So what's the fact that he's a pilot got to do with it?
Mind you, on a sliding scale of being naughty, speeding at 2:30 in the morning is not quite the same as at 8:30 perhaps?

WTF, if that's the case, he wont be a copper anyway, they employ civilian pilots.

SO..............

Pilot gets 3 week ban and £400 fine. Now if that had been you or me?..............

So this topic is a total waste of time as its a pilot and not a copper who was caught speeding. Usual half informed thread.......
