Default Thinking of changing for a Supra...

Ok, I went and test drove a '94 Supra twin turbo today and now I want one!

Current car is a MY01 wrx with very light mods (decat centre and afterburner vortex).

The car I drove today was an auto (which felt like the best auto box I've ever driven), but I'm going to try a manual aswell.

Anyone gone from a Scooby to a Supra?

Any thoughts on the manual v auto gearboxes? From what I can gather the auto is better suited to the car.

Value wise it looks like it'll be a straight swap

I think the only thing I would really miss is the burble!

Cheers for any comments,

Mike

I know someone who has a '94 twin turbo Supra, and it's very rapid.
Unlike Subaru, the english Supra's are quicker than the jap ones, so you may wish to consider this.

I also hear that the automatic gerabox is better than the manual on these cars.

Just make sure you order your medellion and hairy stick on chest, I think they are starting to look a little long in the tooth but hey thats only my opinion, still a nice motor in some ways...

I drove one of these quite a bit recently, although it was very rapid, even with the auto gearbox, and i was pleased to be stepping back into my 02 WRX.

They are looking very dated IMHO, and do tend to fall apart now.

If the auto are better, why are the manual values so much higher?

Your choice fella, but a straight swop for a car 7 years older, think long and hard, the one i was driving just sold for £5000.

Cheers for the opinions guys.

at the medallion comment!

It seems I have a car for year or so then get bored with it.

My first thoughts were to start throwing money at the Scooby to try and make it quicker etc, but it'd still be the same car.

I hate to say it but the Scooby felt quite slow after driving the Supra, although it remains to be seen whether the handling will as good (I doubt it)

Anyone else really fickle when it comes to cars?

Well lets be honest, a scooby Vs a dated supra, make the right choice, if anything go for a Skyline GTR 34, you only need a St Christopher for this one
