Contact them and they will give you used car sites/auction houses if you ask nicely.

the beast and cheaoest way to buy a jap car is to go there and buy it urself, u can drive it and see what it has and doesn't and can haggle etc. there are a few sites that are good enough to do these but they are rare and often charge a lot.

Problem is that going to Japan if you dont speak the language and dont know anyone that can help you is pretty pointless. I agree that it would be the best way though

MMmmmm. I was looking for some Jap wheels a few months back. Sent a few mails, no reply. So I decided to call a few stockists. Not one I phoned could communicate in english, hence my thoughts that it wont be easy...

As you say; most Japanese dont speak English and those that do will be reluctant to in case theyre not very good. Contrary to whats been stated visiting Japan isnt a good way to buy a car there: everything costs a fortune; no one speaks your language and the culture is so alien that you might as well be on another planet. Domestic dealers have no idea about how to export a car and neither do you; if they did and they could communicate with you, then you couldnt arrange transport, storage, de-registration & translation, shipping (and insurance) and stevadoring any more than you could on Alpha Centauri.

If you want to buy a JDM car then Id advise you to contact an importer with a good reputation wholl do it for a simple fee (expect Jap-side fees of £400 or less on top of the sale price -as well as their fee-). Make it clear that you require an auction car and that nothing below a Grade 3.5 will do, ideally a Grade 4, and insist on seeing the auction sheet. This will probably be cheaper than dicing with one of the endless chancers websites and itll certainly be a damned site safer.....

Exactly my point. Unfortunately we dont have any dealers here in SA that deal with imports from Japan, hence I have to look for a Japanese export dealer.
