Default Help Please ! Advice on 1st scoob buying and running.

Hiya all,

A good friend of mine at work took a test drive on the weekend and has the bug !!

He's thinking about buying his 1st scoob on the weekend, its 2 years old, 16,000 on the clock, uk wrx saloon and luckily for him got the PPP.

I've told him all about scoobynet, but he aint got any internet at the moment.

Basically after some advice as to what to look out for when buying it, how to run it when if he buys it etc.

I've got a MY95 uk turbo, so i know the basics, warm up / cool down, optimax, less launching etc - but i'm obviously not very clued up on the newer models.

Any help very much appreciated.

Thanks brent

Same rules apply really, except he'll need to run on SUL to get the best from the PPP. Independent inspection advised for the purchase, full service history by Subaru or a reputable specialist a must, few owners as possible, sensible mods or none at all. Buy with your eyes and ears too: a two year old car owned by an enthusiast should be mint. If it looks or feels baggy, walk away.

Happy hunting to your friend.

Have a look in the insurance section or try a search as it seems the insurance companys are making it up as they go along at the moment. have a look here http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthread.php?t=414016

I've just picked up an 03 wrx with 13,500 on the clock and it's just like new , so he shouldn't have many problems with a 16k car so long as it's got a FSH and it's not two welded together !Worth checking it's a UK car too and it should have a years warranty left on it if anything does go pop ! check for stone chips as the paintwork hasn't got any better over the years

Dave ..... bit upset that he has no interest in Scoobynet though
