AND THE 2.5 COMETH...........
So, latest news I have heard is that we should have a 2.5 in the UK by Christmas with power options approximating: 320 bhp standard, 350 & 400 PPP options.
The 2 litre should remain due to rally regs
Bad news is that pricing could chase Evo up into stratosphere....
I think I will go with the 03 STi PPP new shape which is such incredible value (c. £19k for a good one - thats £10k off current prices) until the 350bhp 2.5 drops below £20k - I am really looking forward to that........!!
Just wish they could reduce the weight a bit more, and make steering c 20% quicker!

It has been posted on here by several including myself as long ago as last year
Still exciting though, although will be interesting to see if / what they do with the suspension with 400bhp!

where is the proof?
it is good news, but until theimpreza starts to look good again, I don't think I will be too keen.
Would rather stick with the 22B and go the RS4, next generation M3 route.

STi is not just a name for the top of the range Impreza but links the model to the department which developed it. Therefore if STi develops the 267bhp 2 litre it will still be called a(n?) STi.
There is already the non-turbo Sport, so WRX Sport seems an unlikely name also.
Maybe WRY (grin).
You also seem to be saying that a car purchased at Xmas for £35k (IMO) will depreciate to sub £20k in a year? Are you trying to encourage people to buy new so that you can get your secondhand bargain

I was over in New Zealand in Dec/Jan, popped into a Subaru dealership and saw that they already have the 2.5 Impreza.
Looked very understated and with a tiny exhaust. Maybe something to do with emission regs over there.
Picked up a brochure on it, I'll dig it out and see if there's some figures etc.

rizzy, you're not helping yourself here. It seems to me you need to talk to someone about your own issues. Please don't go on spoiling Scoobynet for the rest of us; no-one (at the moment) wants a repeat of what happened to you with MLR. If you want my advice, don't give the mods any more reason to ban you.

AFAIK the 2.5l in 300bhp guise doesnt meet current euro emissions regs, thus i think the rumour mill will have to wait to see if we do actually get a 2.5 with more than 260ps oh and i doubt it would be ppp'd up to 350bhp, 330 would be more like it.
