Default rear strut brace

can you put a rear strut brace on the new age impreza?

from looking at the boot and where the mounts are you would have to cut into the car!!

Yes you can but i'm not sure how much cutting has to be done or if you can just get away with taking out the carpet in the boot.

There's an upper and lower rear strut braces available for new-age STi/WRX's. Biatch to fit though, requiring the removal of the rear seats.

It gets pricier and pricier, for little gain. The chassis on new-age Scoobies is so rigid, you have to have stiffened all other suspension components before you start to see any gain from bracing. If your considering it for your WR1 then you already have the Prodrive springs, but I wouldn't consider the expense and hassle of fitting strut braces, particularly at the rear, until I'd also fitted solid drop-links, uprated ARB's and an anti-lift kit. If it still isn't stiff enough by then, blow the cash on some blinging braces, if you must. It'll end up riding like a go-kart though !

Thumbs up

Rizzy, like folk said, a pig to fit. I've got a flat STi one on my 53STi. ?No cutting required but it's a hellish fiddly job. Would be telling porkies if I said I can tell the difference once fitted (although a proper driver might ) although a couple of peeps have commented about my rear end stability under cornering load (ooer).........but mine was effectively free (the joys of eBay ) so, hey, why not!!!
