I saw it a few days ago on there, what concerns me is, how are they going to get it SVA'd without a model report...

IIRC.. something to do with a disibility vehicle and putting a steering wheel **** fitted to the rim of the steering wheel...
Im sure someone will be along soon who can confirm... if you do a search for "GC8", Im sure Simon will help, he imports cars from Japan for a living, so he knows his stuff... I think if you look in "muppets" he can sometimes be found lurking around the hutch....

I rang and spoke to them a little while back.. before I resorted to purchasing my Type R local... The sellers auctions are rubbish.... I watched a few cars sell from the seller and then rang to ask if they really let the cars go for the final bid... The guy replied that they would never do that and only take a minimum of 10k for the cars... It was a Sti4 Type R with some mods.. Just look at the feedback, which doesn't give you any confidence...
Just marketing IMO...

It looks like a different firm tot he one that I was thinking of but I have to say that you cant land, Duty Paid, a decent Type-R for £7,000, you just cant.

MDB Automotive
It goes much deeper than marketing I am afraid. The main issue is that these guys are taking large deposits and not producing the goods - forget the ESVA issue, that is not a factor if you don't have the car from Japan in the first place!
I have a thread going on the third party dealer forum about this very issue. Currently I am suing Matt Bond and MDB Automotive for my £7k back and I would welcome his presence on this site to explain to all how he runs his business.
Where are you Mr Bond........................

A number of people have asked me my opinion of this person but I hadnt come across him myself; I will draw their attention to your thread.
You may know this already George; but you simply can not land a decent Type-R duty-paid for £7,000, let alone register it and clear a profit too. Unimpressive cars sell for as little as ¥700,000 which is just under £3,600 but by the time its on a ship you will have paid a minimum of £4,250. Shipping will cost about £400 with Duty and VAT bringing this up to about £6,000. By the time that you allow for port charges, customs clearance, delivery SVA cost, parts/prep and rental of an elusive Model Report youre looking at a minimum of £6,750 and thats before you make a profit.....
