Default Type uk or not type uk

Am I right that from 2003 onwards, you can get a Japimport Sti or a type UK Sti, and that's about it (apart from the spec C - and is that any better than the two sti's).

What's the main difference? Power, performance, comfort, interior equipment?

And why hasn't the FAQ been updated to include all new models?

I bought my 260 WRX back in '99 and found the FAQ invaluable. Now I can't work out which would suit me, UK or import.

Please, please, tell me. Amy replies or links would be very helpful,

CHeers

Spec C is lighter, and with twin scroll turbo.

A Spec C with Decat and Remap is mega fast.

Thanks guys, its got me thinking.

Is the UK 265 PS and the Import 300ish. And does that alone make such a big price difference. ( I can't really pay more than £18,500 ).

Definitely want to get it right this time, having plumped for the 95 WRX instead of 96 STi when I bought mine in '99, regretted it for years.

Thanks again,

Jerry

Might also want to consider an EU import - essentially same spec as UK but initially cheaper to buy..

The import will give up to 320bhp mapped on Optimax and lots of torque. The UK fitted with PPP gives about 305bhp, so no lack of power from either. I have the import fitted with the twin scroll, it spools up very early compared to my last Impreza.

test drive a uk with PPP and then a JDM. You will know why so many recommend JDM
