Default Securing the battery

Does anyone know how the battery is secured in the engine bay in a MY99 Turbo?

Just taken the old battery out but all that seems to hold the battery in place is a plastic tray! I've put the new battery in, connected up the battery fastener (the two long bolts and metal top unit), but there seems too much movement.

It looks like the battery just sits in this plastic tray with the battery fastener holding the battery in this tray but no proper method to secure it to the engine bay.

Can anyone advise? Thanks in advance...

the long metal bits fit into slots on the battery plate and another bit goes across the top and is secured with two nuts

by the battery plate, do you mean the plastic tray that the battery sits in?

As said, if there's no metal piece across the top of the battery, the idiot who had it before you didn't bother or too dim to realise danger of not securing the battery! That would be an MOT failure by the way.

The two long bolts hook on underneath the plastic tray to secure the battery down before you tighten down the nuts on the metal crossplate on top of the battery.

I found it was a pain to do.
