What do you have to say about the Audi RS2....

This car was mentioned as an alternative for a change from the scoob. I am seriously considering it as the best option for the change.

I think this is the best forum for feedback...especially negative feedback....there is no site more biased... he he he

All contributions appreciated.

Hi Malique

Go and drive one, I think it is a great car and if you are willing to modify can become blisteringly quick.

Only down side gearbox is a little sloppyHope that helps

Cool

I was fortunate to be driven in a RS2 around Snetterton, Quality Car, Fantastic Looks, superb acceleration, outstanding handling. Brillant machine,..........BUT a 50 Grand price tag, means most people get exactly the same form a scooby WRX and half the price!!!!!!

No not bad at all to run just keep away from Main Dealers most of which are useless.

Specialists like Dialynx performance are the way to go.

A good right hand drive should be no more than £24000- £27000

Dont forget that gearbox though.

As Chris pointed out, a friend of mine (who is a dealer) has a very nice one for sale at around the 13k mark. But this is in the UK and your profile says Malaysia, so not much use.

I have done a few miles in it and I love it. I could sing about its good points but won't (and my singing is terrible).

Bad points: None really, very good car. My personal view however is that it feels bigger/wider than it is, but I guess I'm being picky and you would soon get used to it. Saj mentioned a sloppy gearbox, I didn't notice this, actually thought it was quite good, but I guess it depends what you are used to.

Servicing costs are not that bad but part costs can be. As with any slightly wacky performance car, you don't go to a main dealer you go to the more knowledgable independents. In the UK I would suggest Dialynx.

Scope for tuning (if that is your thing) is huge, much bigger than Subarus. The RS2 has something like 8 phase tuning path up to something silly like 600bhp.

g4vln, 50K ??? Are you sure it wasn't the newer RS4 ?

Best advice here comes from Saj, go and drive one, then decide

Cheers

Ian

S2 go for approx 8-10K
RS2 should be 20K (not sure though)
S4 - should get one for £25K
RS4 - Only 330 into UK and will be £45k ish

On the audi. One of the guys has an S4 from new - cost £40K he has an RS4 on way and his loss trade in price will be between £20 & £25K. Make the scoobs still seen not as bad.

I can highly recommend Dialynx, why not give Keith a ring (01793 772245) he will be able to give you the complete low down on parts prices etc.

Saw his crazy SWB Quattro at Castle Combe, awesome :-))

Thanks for the replies so far...

Saj.

I will indeed test drive this RHD example being offered, probably next week but am not really looking to modify anything. My scoob has been through 3 g/boxes - now on hewlett gears, 2 sets of internals and 2 blocks....then again...

what can u do to an RS2 i wonder.

Ian

no complaints?

I will call Dialynx if i need parts-thats a useful future reference. Thanks again.

anything else?

I am sure Aelred and Keith have something they are working on for the RS4 last time I was there they were working on a 550bhp Audi TT yes 550BHP.

Expect a 600 BHP conversion for the RS4

If only ehh

The new RS4 is fantastic. Went to Silverstone for the 50th anniversary of F1, stayed to the very end till there wasnt a soul in sight. Walked down the pit lane and a dozen RS4s were there. These cars were standard road cars, 2.6 V6 twin turbo 400bhp. Got taken round, the handling at 100+ was incredible!

Not bad for an estate, i want one now
