Optimax abroad?

Optimax abroad?
Thinking of taking the Scoob to France, but from what I can find on the Shell website, Optimax is only available in the UK.
Am I right?
Is there a suitable alternative (ie, same or better RON)?

all super unleaded in france is 98ron, even the stuff u get in supermarkets.
would advise against stopping on the motorways for fuel if you can as they tend to be alot more expensive
if u have a gps/laser thingy remove it from car before you go, the gendarmes have a hate / extreme hate against the things and will fine you and them make you drive over it to destroy it!

from memory. when you pull into a station 90% of pumps are 98 ron as there is no / minimal price difference so everyone uses 98. No optimax just labelled as super plus.
aggres motorway prices are about the same as uk, the esso garage outside the tunnel is very expensive. best bet is to pull off and find a inner town petrol station

Brilliant.
Looks like it's a family holiday in France this summer.

PS. Shouldn't have too much problem with the Gendarmes, the WR1's a very discreet car.

in which case maybe i should add that if u r caught at more than 30kph above the speed limit they take your license away on the spot. With "foreign" drivers they confiscate license and post it to the relevant country's embassy and if there are no other drivers in the car wait with you until a taxi arrives to make sure you dont drive your car away!
If you are doing alot more than 30kph they then have the option to confiscate your car.
The Gerndarmes are also very sneaky. Last year was driving down to see parents and they were speed trapping in some roadworks, dressed as a construction worker and hiding behind a man at work sign!
