Even though it may be similar in style to the 06, let's hope it doesn't look that bad.

That was a photoshop ... look carefully at the pic and you'll see the STI logo on the seat is the wrong way round. The 2006 impreza will not have twin pipes and will not have a front end like that one.

I cant imagine anyone who buys an Impreza from any era has any concerns whatsoever about how it looks, none of them look anything more than a 4 door saloon that some Korean company would churn out, and as for sticking a huge out of place spoiler on the boot, it really doesnt help.
Impreza's are all about going fast, and have nothing to do with loking good or having class, but they are very capable at what they do, just takes a certain sort to appreciate the one trick the pony has.
Given that fact, im sure they'll sell quite a few regardless of how it looks.

The reason they sell more performance saloons than mitsubishi is because subarus look better ... they have a road presence and is the main reason I stuck to scoobs and didn't buy an evo.

They do have a certain road presence, althou all too common these days, but dont give any sense of being a sports car, which, to me anyway, is a big part of owning a performance car, it looks as good as it goes, it gives you a sense of occassion when you walk up to it and get into it, and you feel like you can tell where your money went even when standing still, and the Impreza does none of that.
I wish Subaru would bring out a shape that doesnt require huge wings etc to advertise the fact its supposed to be a performance car, something that looks classy, feels classy, and has performance car lines, then all that 4WD experience and ability would be put to use in a car people who dont want to scream "chav" would want to buy.

The reason subaru sell more saloons than mitsubishi is that mitsubishi only make one model of evo for the uk market. Subaru have churned out imprezas for the uk for many years.
