Hmmmm.........mines MY99 aswell and has 23,000 on the clock.

Over ther last couple of days I have noticed a 'scraping' noise from the front offside but only when I turn right. I think I will also visit the dealer, just in case.

CVheers for the info.

Not the "right" place to post this (Simon - feel free to move it if you want) but think its important enough to post here.

Some of you may recall I had a clunking from front suspension. General opinion was anti roll bar drop links.

Took it to Dealer on Saturday - turns out it is front ball joints

Nearside is "extremely badly worn" and offside is "not as bad, but not good"

Car has only done 14,300 miles and less than one year old

Garage have "never seen that on an Impreza in 7 years"!!!

Never had the car anywhere I shouldn't. Roads near me a bit bumpy, but come on!!

Not amused and not wanting to think of what might have happened had one or other failed completely at speed.

Hi Blubs

- its a MY99 car - 1st reg 20/8/99.

Running about in Astra right now, not bad, but not "quite" the Scoob!!!

I'd be interested to hear if anyone else had problems.

Cheers

My impreza sport has just started clunking from front left when i go into reverse and start to move the car, sounds like a knackered lobro joint to me but could be a ball joint.

I am gonna get it booked in for a check and will let you know, i have only 14K on the clock myself!

Diablo

So which dealer did you change to ?

My local dealer read your previous post (and my reply) - I know because they had a print-out behind the reception desk.

Glad to see that we have influence.

Hi Donald,

Ended up giving Fraser Anderson in Stirling a go.

They were really accomodating, had a look at the car on spec (was heading up to Perth), diagnosed the problem and will be hopefully fixing it tomorrow and doing the 15,000 mile service at the same time.

From home Stirling is the closest-aside from Paisley-but its a better road (as in more fun) and its only half an hour from Glasgow anyway.

Blokes all seem really knowledgeable and friendly. Will let you know how I get on.

Regards

D

Oh, forgot to ask, any response to your "they'll never work for prodrive" quip?

Well Scoob back in full health and post 15k mile service going better than ever

Top marks to Fraser Anderson in Stirling for service. Felt a little down on power before, but feels like they found another 20bhp

Interestingly enough, the pain in the ar*e 2nd gear low boost hesitation which so many of us complain about has also been eradicated (without asking cos I had accepted it would always be there) Must ask them what they did.

Fixed the noise/vibration on depressing the clutch as well (another commom problem i recall) was the clutch pipes after all.

A very happy D

Edited because BBS doesn't screen out the word ****....ha ha ha...

Wink

Diablo

They didn't mention my cheeky comment. I just happen to notice the print-out behind the reception desk. I don't think that they planted it there deliberately. To their credit, I was dealt with in the usual friendly, professional manner as before.

Maybe I should check those wheelnuts
