Thumbs up Going Abroad

Travelling to Garmisch in Germany for summer Hols. Do I need Beam benders or is there a switch hidden away on the head lights like BMW/Audi and some VW's?????

PS
Hoverspeed doing book early crossings for £103 return in August (8 days low volumn times mid-PM/mid-AM). Very good been before.

Assuming you've got a Scoob then yes you need beam benders.

On my old E30 BM you undid a couple of screws on the back of the dipped beam assembly and changed them over to LHD settings. It that some sort of motorised adjustment on newer BMs then?

Wink

No adjusters, no markings on the headlight glass

It can be done with black tape and a stanley knife, shine lights on garage door and note that beams are shaped thus:

\___ \___

You should aim to place tape on the glass, looking at the lights from the front, roughly between 9 o'clock and 7 o'clock, and to centre of light, so that the resultant shape of the beams becomes:

_____ _____

If you give me your email address, I can send you 2 scans of a fax I got from Subaru showing the areas on the 99my headlights that need to be masked.

Here are the scans of the fax that was sent from Subaru, to my dealer, to me in 1999 just before my trip to France for Le Chateau Challenge in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care.

The dots tie up with a small dot on the headlamp.

Here's a pic of my old Scooby at Gien, France, with the headlamps masked. My headlamps & fogs had the Subaru "3D" headlamp protectors.
