Default Scott's Mud Flaps + Prodrive springs, which holes to use?

Guys,

Just got my Scott's Mud Flaps in and I'll be fitting them at the weekend hopefully. If the weather improves that is.

I read the instructions and I see you can fit it in two different holes. Now I'd probably go with the one that makes them closest to the ground, but the car is going to get prodrive springs put on at the end of February hopefully.

So if I use the top holes, thus moving the flaps lower to the ground, would they be dangerously low with the 25mm drop the prodrive springs give?

I don't particularly want to be reversing and accidentally remove the backend of the car.

But then I don't particularly want them to look like my cats are dead.

Cheers.

They are going to be low and noisy round bends and over speed humps! You'll probably get peed off with the frequent scraping noise. For me, I think psychologically it eventually made me think my cars suspension was too soft! That was on an 03 WRX PPP with Prodrive springs and 4 SWRT mud flaps. The front one's are the noisy and low one's!

Mine are on the highest. As stated the front are the ones that catch ramps but dispite HARD cornering mine have not touched the ground that I have heard. Back look a little high may drop them some time..........

Mine are on the lower position. They look great and I would imagine they catch more of the debris. They do scrape on some speedbumps and on the driveway, but I don't think thats much of an issue, they're designed to bend! :-) I've not heard them scrape under cornering though, wouldn't imagine that would be likely unless you were really going for it or were on a bend that featured an abrupt gradient change or something similar. Disconcerting the first time you hear the noise though I must admit! :-)

Best.

So that's the position where the flaps are lower, or in the lower hole, which makes the flaps higher? All very confusing.

And do you have standard suspension or have you had the car dropped?

I fitted some Scott flaps at Christmas , got the Prodrive spings , And fitted them on the top holes , (lowest setting ) they look a bit low at the front (but have the WRC look ) the rears however look at bit high , I do get a bit of rubbing on the corners , but you have to be pushing hard , but the main thing is the car as nowhere near as much crap and muck down the sides and rear now

Forgot to add , I used the opportunity to swap the wheels around ( front to back )

LOL The flaps are on their lowest setting, I looked at them on the other and felt they were a bit to high for cosmetic and practical reasons (no point in having them if the debris can simply slip under them). The car is on Std suspension at the moment. If you've got the Prodrive lowered suspension, it might be worth considering putting the flaps in their highest position and seeing how they look/perform.

Best

PS. Definately a good investment, they really do stop thsoe stonechips eating away at your colour coding and keep the sides of the car cleaner!
