I had a walk round Halfords yesterday and noticed that the price of the 4 litre packs of Mobil 1 has gone up from £29.99 to £32.99 and the 1 litre packs from £9.99 to £10.99 - a total increase of £4 or 10% (and inflation is supposed to be around 2%). I seem to remember reading somewhere that some petrol stations stock Mobil 1 does anybody know if it's Esso, BP or what (I've never seem it anywhere other than Halfords)and if it's any cheaper?

hehe esso stock mobil 1 ? I dont think so!!!!

Try a mobil garage. I used to find them cheaper, plus they often used to have some free premier points stuck to the container

Raymond

T.M.S. Motor Spares in Dumfries and my company are business associates.

I understand that they stock Mobil 1 at their Woking branch which I'm sure they would transfer to the Dumfries branch on a next day basis.

Give them a ring on 01387 262523.

Hopefully you will find the price to your liking!

This is because Mobil put their prices up on th 15th May 2000. Obviously this is being passed on to the customers now that the old stocks have been sold and Halfords are having to re-order at the increased prices....

Thumbs up

Rich - Brilliant! Saving of £8.55 on 4 Litres - can't ask for better than that - and TMS will obtain from Woking as they don't stock in Dumfries

Robski - Yeah, I know, I know . We don't have any Mobil stations around here and somebody said that he had seen Mobil 1 in another station but couldn't remember where.

Robski,
Rather bizarrely, Esso do in fact stock Mobil 1 now, as well as several other outlets. I was rather dumbfounded to learn this, as I don't remember any mergers etc. taking place.

I buy mine in France, Carrefors in Cite Europe at £17 for 4litres.
Bonus being its the 5w 50w that Subaru recommend, the Ow sold here invalidates my warranty as it has not been tested by Subaru.

I know Scotland is a bit far to just hop over to France however its worth bearing in mind.

Geezer and robski

Esso will be selling Mobil 1 everywhere soon. The parent company has bought Mobil Oils. Mobil are going through a "divorce" with BP who currently sell Mobil 1. (My neighbour is a marketing manager for Mobil).

Hmmm, amazing how that merger went by unnoticed.

Since January, the company is called ExxonMobil.
