Question

A friend of mine Which able to own a WRX STI type R VI with the following Mods.
Intake.(HKS)
Downpipe (Tanabe)
Exhaust (Tanabe Racing Medalion)
ECU upgraded (blitz)
Dump valve (Blitz)
He claims that His car will able to Take any of the above cars on the Highway and street.
As I am a Supra owner.I personelly doubt about what he claim.
I dont have much driving experience about WRX STi.But got a lot for Evo 5 and 6.
So May I hear all you fellow scooby owner honest opinion?

Thanks
JWKC

Continued......racing on the "highway" is for Muppets and losers IMHO and most other people's on the BBS too.
Not a very helpful post.

If you were talking about on a track, now that would be different.

I have an STi Type R...

Fast as it may be with those mods, I will not even suggest that it can beat a 911 or Ferrari on the highway. Perhaps, a Supra up to 200Kmh...

Those extra ccs and bhps will prevail...

I've Forwarded the following message from Bajie, he's working in Germany at the moment and hasn't got an internet connection.

Just for the record the guy hasn't got a hope in hell keeping up with my Supra

>If he can get more than 160 [clock speed] >he's lucky.
>The only "performance cars" you get past >out here are the ones that move out of the >way.
>He WILL be able to pass the Beemers and >Mercs.
>Because they are limited to 155.
>Unless of course its a Brabus. Thats when >you pull into a service station and buy a >sandwich.
>612 miles - four tanks of petrol you'll >have lots of opportunities!
>If he REALLY does have all that power he >should concentrate more on the engines >internals
>than hoofing around up a Porsches chuff. >Two things are liable to go pop.
>The first will be his engine.
>Any bets on the second ...

I won't comment on "road racing", as it's BLO*DY stupid, but on the track........

On the track, I've yet to come across a 911 where the driver is good enough to out drive a Scoob. Some of them are pretty quick in a straight line, but lose out big time through the corners.

Same goes for the Ferrari's, but these owners tend to be on the conservative side with their £100k cars !!!.

I imagine that either of the above, if very well driven could match the Scoob, which is FAR easier to drive close to it's limits.

Supra.......Hmmmm, nice touring car, and quick top end, but they're 14sec' 1/4 milers, and unless you spend a fortune on them, pretty average on the track. Yes I know about the Blitz Supra, but that has circa 700bhp, set up to race the Ring, and Blitz sponsoring it.

These are just my oppinions, apart from making GT3 owners wonder why a £20k car Woops them on the track .

Mark.

Thanks for everybodys opinions
And I got my result already!!
One of my friend's supra ( which got almost the same mods with my supra) raced my friend's scooby yesterday night in the strip. From a dead stop up to his 6 gear!.Also some rolling start. Good run.
I must say the scooby R with mods are a very quick car!!!The 4 wheel drive really help!Strong acceleration also!! BUT......

Mark! I belive a supra TT is averaging mid 13's to low in 1/4 miles.AND Just some bolt on upgrade. It can easy to reach 400 BHP+ and Mid to low 12's!

Anyway! Thanks for everybodys opinions!!

Thumbs up

As Mark said, it's all about the driver, having had the pleasure of riving 2 360's around Kemble (F1 box and manual), I can safely say that if thed rivers are the same caliber, the 360 is going to win every time, despite my love for the Scoob - 400bhp gives a big advantage, the acceleration is MEGA.

No doubt this will cause some great debate on the matter!
