Post Pulled over by the Police

Dropped a mate off at home tonight and lets say the area is less well off than others (pc....ie a dump). Only two times in 2 years I've been pulled is the only 2 times I've dropped him off! Might make him walk next time

Got pulled by two cars as coming out of his estate (ghetto). Very friendly plods just wanted to check the car details as they've had 'problems' with a few scoobs. Started to chat and they were saying what problems they have (scoobs being hi-jacked, stolen) and said that its not that bad in Coventry, but in Birmingham it was almost an hourly occurance

Asked them what traffic cars they have and whether they engage in high speed or dangerous pursuits. Answer was that they dont have any traffic cars that could keep up, let alone catch scoobs/evos. In fact he said if I failed to stop or drove off there wasnt much he could do about it I replied, 'thats a shame, because thats why criminals are holding people up at gun point and breaking into houses demanding keys' He said 'well yes, quite possibly, but it catch 22...we cant risk pedistrians getting killed' anyway it went on...talked about US traffic police tactics etc.

Find it astonishing that the police 'couldnt do much if I didnt stop or decided to drive off'.

Nice enough plods though.

This despite the impression they try to give on programs like "Police, Stop, Revenue!"

Loaded shotgun by the bed is your only friend (could also come in handy if the wife is being a bit reluctant )

Red face

Advising "kill all cats in your garden", is a good way of getting their attention!!!

Not that I would of course.

Agree there is not much plod can do to stop these scum, however when they do eventually catch up with them they should be sent down for 10 years, not serve 2 hours community service and a £10 fine.

What community service and fine??????????

First three incidents will be warning, another warning, and a conditional.

But try getting out of a speeding ticket................

I know a lot of old bill some of them good friends (well as good as old bill can be!) and they all say the same thing ie (when they knew I was getting a scoob) 'oh be careful, you'll get it nicked etc, etc...!

Now when I've actually said to them how many have been nicked in the last week that they knew about...

'well er there was one nicked the other week, or so I heard, but they get taken all the time! Don't they?'

Fortunately, like a lot of coppers they tend to be very pesimistic (or very black or white) in their thinking and the fact that a few years ago there were a lot of scoobs being nicked has cemented there opinions on scoobs for ever!

Bob'5 I know your opinions of Birmingham from your previous posts, however they are wrong. As confirmed by a lot of Birmingham members on this forum!

Let me take a guess at the estate your on about....Castle Vale by any chance?

PS this is not a bash at the old bill, just the way they think sometimes! Enevitable given the crap they have to deal with day to day!

They have a Helicopter.. thats good for 150mph

I think quite a lot of forces are onto this now and do have some quite quick cars (STIs, Evo8s etc), but they are in small numbers and the chances of it being nearby when something happens is slim.

dont know what they use it for though. Not stolen cars, armed car-jackers etc it would seem

Cov police dont have any fast cars. They dont even have their own armed response unit (I would hope this only applies to traffic armed response)
