Hi all
Here's my dilemma, im trying to sell my m3 conv as no space for new addition.
once gone should i buy a 4 or 5 door now?
Or should i place an order abroad for new spec and buy a runaround in between.
Any help would be gratefully received, does anyone know anyone with the old shape in stock, any discounts - or any URL's with new shape info.

Thanks

Hello

had a chat with a dealer I know. Apparently there a big stockpiles of unsold Subaru cars. People are not coming in to the showroom due to the uncertainty in the market. The new shape may be delayed if they have loads of old shape.

If I were you I'd doing nothing but keep an eye on prices for now. Consider buying a recent second hand machine.

I was considering ordering the new shape or adding the PPP to mine but I'm almost certain that I'll wait and see the new car at the roadshow.

Finally don't rush to spend your money you might regret it but if you do want a new 4 door (holds its value better than the 5 door mail me offline and I'll give you an idea of where you can get one).

Exclamation

Mikey,

Just picked up an RB5 ProDrive from SGT in Taplow (Berkshire). They have a cancelled order MY00 4 door turbo in a bronzey sort of red colour waiting for a buyer. There have been previous threads on the BBS slating the MY01 car and if Subaru read this site they have better be joking about the "spy" shots that have appeared in Autocar - no buyers here

Who knows, SGT may do a deal, personally I found them very pleasant to deal with

Happy shopping

Yex

Cool

Wow, you are going to get away with using the new arrival to justify buying a faster car... some guys have all the luck.

The red one at SGT may be their demonstrator at least thats what I had my test drive in back in early June. It has been revved over 4000 inside the first 1000 miles tho'

The wise money would be on a 5-door in DBM - the red mica looks ok but will date fast and is a bit 'girlie' ..... buy one now and haggle for a big discount 10% should do you - go for the 5-door because rumour has it that it will not be available in the new model (or at least not with all the kit on!) - hence those wanting a 5-door will HAVE to buy a MY00!! Anyway if the photos of the new one are correct - the old models will be where the money is ... especially the MY00 (looks so much better than the older ones)
By the way, stick with a UK spec (Residuals my dear boy!!)

pslewis: "Girly" Steve here!!!
I had a choice of colours and dismissed 'pink' out of hand
when looking at the colour chart.
The dealer then took me to see one
parked next to DBM and Silver. It
was no contest!!!
DBM is very nice but too common for
me. Much prefer to have the only RM
in my area. Not sure if exclusivity
will be unpopularity when it comes
to selling tho!
Horses for courses I s'pose

PS.Lewis writes "stick with a UK spec (Residuals my dear boy!!)"
Uk spec is available all over europe !
order a 2001 5dr in europe it will look so much beter than a uk 2000my when you come to sell it on after 3 (?)years and be worth just as much as a uk car anyway
residuals is all about suply and demand . the right car will sell at the right price regardless of origin . One owner fssh is all you need , one ferry trip is not an issue far less important than one "track day " if I was paying for a second hand Turbo

Out of interest is it an M3 Evo convertible?

If so maybe a swap with cash for an RB5?

When I ordered mine (4-dr) it was a toss-up between the DBM and the Red Mica. In the end, I went for the DBM, but I still think the 4-dr car looks really smart in the red, and much better than the "pure" reds of earlier models.

The popular colours around my way seem to be sonic blue, silver, and the green, and I hardly ever see a DBM!

Wink

Steve,

I'm with you on this one....I have seen plenty of DBM and Green Turbo's, I had a choice of Mica Red or DBM, and I went for the red too ...yes it is a bit pinkish for me, but nevertheless, I have yet to see another one yet...and that is since end of April!

So fingers crossed, rarity might add a few quid.......well, pennies anyway!!

Girly Jim!

p.s. no offence to Scoob drivers of any other colour! I just wanted something different!

OK, reading thru. the repsonses , if I say add a trailer to the M3, then I think I've covered all the options

Only joking thanks for the responses though Im still undecided, buying a runaround and waiting seams the logical answer, until you think about what that actually means.

Did someone offer a swap/buy its a M3 Conertible 95/m Met black, white lotus leather, FBMWSH, lovely !

Cheers

Ok after much deliberation heres the decision :-
1) Sell the BM
2) Buy a runaround
3) Order a new shape 5 door from abroad

Can I have help for the following
1) Best web site for selling your car
2) any ideas for buying a cheap runanround, dare i say something like a fiesta
3) Best Co. abroad for ordering scoobies

Cheers folks
Mikey
