Default 04 Uk or 05 Euro import?

Thinking of changing back to a Scoob - miss the grip and most importantly the noise !
Question is 04 UK car or a 05 Euro import from say Litchfield or Alliance cars ?

Anyone know of any problem with eitther of these importers ?

Would probably end up getting EcuTek on either of the cars and scoobysport exhaust system as dont think the PPP is that good a value

Any ideas good / bad

Richard

Litchfield, Hendry's 05 euro/jap import has my vote.

If you are not going to PPP it's a no brainer...the 05 car is better than the 04, you still get a 3 year warranty (pan European).. and you get a bit of cash left over to personalise it a little..

Alliance cars have both the WRX and STi 05 with or without DCCD (STi) for £22995.00, £20995.00 for non DCCD, Blue or Black, seems a good deal saving maybe £3.000 over uk dealers price and they have them in now.
If you do modify the car though you will loose the pan europian warranty (the reason for going PPP in the first place) but if you're keeping the car for more than 3 years this is not a problem when it comes to resale value.
If you can afford it I would go for the 05 model.

Thanks for the heads up on alliance never heard of em, just picking jaw off the ground now £21K OTR for a new STI inc 12mths tax and 3yr warranty, I saw an ad offering STIs new for £19.5K that I thought was a steal but only got a number no other details and tried ringing a few times without much success so not really happy about dealing with them, they advertise in top marques and are called select imports.

I've used alliance imports a few years ago for an MX5. Pretty good service and saved a few K into the bargain.

Why is the 05 car a better one than the 04 car, just being to the dealer and it looks mostly interior changes (for the worse IMO) ?
- Oh and red calipers instead of black. or am I being completely blind and missing something

Liked the SL pack !

04-05 changes are described in the press release. Most of the significant changes apply to the STI only, so whilst I'd definitely recommend the '05 STI over the '04, on the WRX I don't think it's as big a deal.

Alliance get my vote, however have heard good reports from Litchfields too.

MY05 WRX has better suspension (inverted as per STi) and a few other handling improvements and the interior is just better put toghether.

Jason

BTW those red calipers shouldn't corrode like the grey ones!

Let me know what you decide Richard, i'm getting rid of my Evo 7 FQ 300 for either a 2005 WRX or an 03/04 STi. I had an 03 WRX PPP which was lovely in every way, except a little soft round bends, even though it had Prodrive springs. I think the 05 WRX with inverted struts and improved suspention mountings, coupled with Prodrive springs, will be a more firmer drive, hopefully! Motorpoint in Derby are doing good deals, and there customer service was good. They called me within 24 hours after an email enquiry, so did Alliance, where as i'm still waiting, 7 days later, to hear from DC Cooke! Your looking to pay, for a 2005 WRX on the road, with 12 months tax and you as the 1st registered keeper, around £16,600-£16,800. On top of this is a Cat 1 Sigma alarm £351 (Motorpoint) fitted incl. VAT, a tracker, and some locking wheel nuts from a Main Dealer!
