Why are you not allowed to link to ebay in for sale?

LOL, I know that now... but just wondering why this might be?
I cant see any down side to doing this - so long as the things for sale are scooby related - so just wondering why this is the rule? If anything it makes purchasing safer as the seller can be traced a little easier and you can see feedback? I run a similar forum to this and we encourage e-bay links because of these reasons.

Because the item offered for sale is not actually for sale through the forum, you are merely advertising the auction item for free, not offering it for sale to scoobynet users. If you offer it for sale here with a fixed or negotiable price it would be OK, but to use the forum as free advertising for another site isn't.

To advertise on scoobynet, you have to be a scoobynet+ member. This requires a fee. By placing links to ebay, you are avoiding the fees on here aswell as ebay fees if you do not sell the item on ebay.
Common sense really.
