Is it fitted with a Scooby sport back box?
It's the effect of the 3" downpipe on the leather seats that you gotta worry about..
And I've heard that there are sudden turn in problems with it.. tends to ****** and grab at the limit and the lower control arms can lead to severe roll-over problems on turn in

Sorry John on thinking about it I don't
want to buy your sofa.
You've crammed in 4 seats where there should only be three. Fitted 5" casters where the mountings should only take 4" ones and mounted two additional strut braces to reduce scuttle shake.
I've also been told that when sitting on the sofa there is an excessive heating problem which means that you can't get the most out of it. You also jokingly told me a while back that you planned to fit in a 10 seater into the main chassis of the sofa as you had a mate who'd had an old 10 seater from a Nascar racing sofa collecting dust in his garage.
It's this last rather worrying thought that changed my mind. If it had been a normal MFI vectra sofa I might have been tempted.

What's the damping like? As you know it is likely to come under *heavy* use on bump when I sit on it? I have known some sofas to rebound terribly sending me way off line and bouncing me out the back door.
Also would you part ex an old kitchen table?
Cheers

Puff; is that a genuine UK sofa? Seems a bit pricey, I might have to go to IKEA and get an imported one (full UK spec) for that sort of money

Anybody know if you can use fully synthetic Mobil one on the castors ?
If its being modified will it affect my house insurance ? and Anybody know where I can get house insuranance to cover it ?
Anybody "LINK"ed it to another sofa ?
Anybody tried fitting larger castors and big brake conversion incase the sofa slides accross the floor a bit quick.
Do I have to change the castor angle or fit anti-lift to stop understeer . Also do Anybody knwo where I can get the sofa geometry set (negative toe in ?).
Import sofa verus german verus latest EVo sofa ?
Cheers

so many questions for a £20 sofa.
of course it is lowered, i am using the special Leda shortened caster struts, gives better turn in to the living room.
I have fitted the STi allow castors as the unsprung weight is superior, its really noticable after a couple of budweisers in particular.
I have made my own special repackable back box, as my recent curries have been rather hot after taking tips from Anders, i want to be able to repack after i have burned the original packing with the excesive temps generated.
The damping is also improved and is now 3 way adjustable for bump and low/high speed rebound for if i get lucky
The oil i use is critical to coping with the effects of hot curries in particular, i only use Castrol RS 15-60 as Mobil 1 burns too easily.
I have ditched the closed loop lamp-da control as it couldnt cope with the wide band of applications the sofa was being used for. This means i am no longer limited to standard pump coffee and can go for the exotic import blends.

John,
I'm not interested in the whole package but if you are breaking it I'll be intesrested in any fluffy sweets you might find down the back of the cushions

John,
Don't know if you have had any serious offers yet, but if you don't sell it I've had word from Rich/Dirk at Powerstation that they now do their bumpsteer removal setup for sofas as well now. Much better turn in is always a plus on sofas.
Cheers

OK, sofa is now being offered at a 20% discount following flame damage at aglesey race track.
It still functions as a sofa but looks a little distorted round the edges.

John is selling his sofa to make way for the MY01 model. It looks just like a MFI/IKEA hybrid with large oval shaped clear plastic lenses on each arm.
The MY01 sofa is not to be mixed up with lesser specification sofa's such as the Hyundai easi-lay and Daewoo legrester.

John,
Quite fancy the sofa but have spent most of the day trying to sort out insurance..Cant even get a COVER note.... Is it an import? Does it have a CAT ? Flux and the likes kept on saying that it wasn`t on their system....
I know this must be wrong given that you are a respected member and you must of got insurance for it from somewhere.
LOL

You think you have problems with insurance ..
I tried to get some finance for it and I've been ringing round all day and at last I can get it .... nothing to pay till 2001 and then 12 months interest free credit ... subject to status of course ..
Not to sure if I like the lamp pods though and it does ride low ..will it get over the speed humps in our street me thinks not

Of course i have it insured!!
It's under an agreed value of £20 policy that covers me for track day use and 7500 miles/year on the road fully comp.
And it only costs £400 a year, absolute bargain!!
That piccy is pre-anglesey, looks a bit charred now. LOL
