Question

I don't know if others have this problem, but I find in some areas of the country it is almost impossible to get SUL (North West Norfolk for instance) without long journeys and call crawls through yellow pages. SUL supply seems to be declining in many areas.

Does anyone know if any of the main fuel suppliers have a listing (on the Web or elsewhere) of which of their filling stations in the UK carry SUL? It would be so useful.

Julian

Only the Esso stations in W Yorks seem to have super so this is a question I have thought about posting too.
Is it true though that MY99 on cars have ecu's that will adjust up as well as down depending upon quality of fuel?

SteveC - supposedly yes, can't guarantee it myself as I've run SUL from new (MY00).

Shell do have a listing on their website, but I think it's tucked away on

Esso sell it in Broadford on Skye, just in case you get lost in the West Highlands!
Saved my bacon I can tell you!

In my experiance I have found that most motorway service stations sell Super Unleaded... although they may be a bit expensive ... you can always fill up enough to get you to your regular supplier.

Went to Yeovil and Yeovilton a month back and couldnt get SUL. Stopped at loads of garages. I even stopped at a Texaco garage that had SUL on the board but didnt have it on the pumps - the attendent even to told me you cant get SUL anymore its been withdrawn - "odd ", I told him, "I can get it easily in Dorset" - dohhhh.

Think this is an idea for a "Where's the SUL" website (PS Im not volunteering just hope someone else will )

Shell in Ullapool has SUL, I did not see any further north/west than that. It was only 2p/L dearer than the UL which was 89.9P

Stevechaps,

Shell garage in Bailiff Bridge on main road between Bradford and Brighouse. You're right though, nearly all Esso seem to have it (I know the one on Killinghall Rd doesn,t), but not all Shell.

SteveC

You'll have company then. Graham (moz.g) is coming over from the Wirral in his flowerpot coloured car (mica red).

Actually I saw it "in the flesh" at Birch last time (NM3) and was well impressed with it. Dealer put me off the colour and my son (5 at the time) wanted blue. What can you do?
