I have been scanning the www for a decent diecast Impreza model and found these that are soon to be launched. I thought they looked good enough to draw attention to. Made by AutoArt. 22B is just over £30 and WRC around £40. Not sure why the WRC is more expensive but that's the one I wanted - typical. They are 1:18 scale ie about 9-12 inches long.

Unfortunately I couldn't find any standard cars around but I'm not really clued up. It has been suggested to me that these are some of the most detailed models available, but nevertheless the 22B picture must be against trading standards if its a real car! I think I will wait until they have made a few Imprezas before I try and put them out of business for misrepresentation though.

I've seen a Scalectrix special edition Silver WRX-a-like which is quite nice if you're into that sort of thing (and have a silver 2 door )
I'd love a little die-cast 5-door for my mantlepiece if anyone's ever seen one...

Being a sad old git, who seems to spend an unhealthy amount of time building model Impreza WRC's to order, I know of a few places to look.
As I understand it, the models will be available sometime within the next few weeks. They will be fairly readily available from people like ASK Models,

Yeah, quite fancy the WRC myself. Bought a Tamiya 99 WRC plastic kit a little while ago, but still in bits!
Was in a dealer today, hapened to look at the Subaru merchandise price list - something like £250 for the pewter Impreza! Bit steep, even if it is limited to 3000 worldwide!

Anyone know what the Trofeu models listed on macclaren models website are like? I presume they're die-cast 1:43 scale. I can just see the mantlepiece adorned with such treasures . . . although the missus probably doesn't!

I think the Trofeu models are supposed to be quite good and made in Portugal, although admittedly I've not seen one properly. My thinking was that 1:43 would be a bit small and you would not really be able to see inside it well. I admit it is tempting to see all the different Imprezas they have - you could have a whole starting grid on your mantle piece.

Just bought a second-hand Tamiya 1/10th scale remote control Impreza WRC, for a seriously low price. Only prob is that the paint job on the shell is not as perfect as I would like, Anyone know where I an get a replacement body and stickers?

1. Trofeu are nicely sized for display purposes. You can get about 20 - 30 different ones. They come in their own little plastic box which is Ok for display if you want lots of them
Just don't let any little fingers into the box as my 1997 WRC as now got a loose spolier and bent roof ariel ( sp ).
2. The 1:18 scale models are just about right if you have lots of room or just one or two models.
3. 'Sad Old' Josh built my Tamiya for me and it's AMAZING, right down to the hand crafted roof 'whip' type ariel.

Cheers Simon.
Tamiya want £38 for a new body shell, and then it can take 2 months on order. Bit stupid really when the whole car kit costs £89 including all electronics, just minus the remote controls.
Grrrr.
