The 22B is the closest model to a WRC Scooby. It is a 2.2litre with flared wheel arches on a 2 door body shell. The model below it is the WRX STi Type-R which is also on a 2 door body shell. It is a 2litre. The P1 is a UK model and a softer version of the STI Type-R.

The 22B has more torque, 267lbs v 260 but its delivery is better due to the 2.2ltr engine, different turbo etc.
Also the 22B is based upon the Version 4 type R, the P1 on a version 5 type r/wrx type r cross.

You can no longer import 22B's as there isnt a model report for them
You may have to search though the autotrader (national search) to find a good one or check out www.22b.com

Try Stan Palmer Subaru in Carlisle. They are an official Subaru dealership and always seem to have a 22B for sale. Last one was £29k.

The Subaru Garage here in Limassol, Cyprus has a 22B UK model for sale with UK reg: WRC 1.

you wont get a decent 22b for much less than 25k. my dad has a 22b and i think it is the most beautiful scooby ever produced! If you put a 22b next to a p1 the 22b stands out more, its less common in every way and as theres only 16 built, it is the ultimate scooby to have because lets face it. we all want to stand out abit.

having put the 22b through its paces, ive got to be honest it was very very bad. on a dry road going round a roundabout it understeered badly then went into oversteer. i understand they were built to be neutral and even though it was predictable,i didnt feel safe or comfortable round bends or corners like in my type ra which never oversteers in dry.

the p1 and 22b both do 0.60 in 4.6 and 155mph even tho the22b is supposed to be 300 bhp not 280 like the p1.(dynod) the torque range from the 22b is between 3-6000 rpm but has a redline of 8000rpm. i found myself changing gear alot, 2000rpm short of redline which to me seems a waste of power.

i raced the 22b from 70-140 and won but i have got a decat xhaust so although my car is 1 3rd of the price and no way near as good looking its nice to know a 9k 9yr old car is up to scratch on the road.

get the 22b
