Unhappy

Insurance Companies don't really consider the value of the claim when it comes round to renewal time.

A claim is a claim, and for repairs under £500, you are often better just to arrange the repair yourself, and not inform the insurance company, as the increase in premium over the next 5 years (they always seem to ask if you have had any claims in the past 3 to 5 years!) will far surpass the cost of the original repair.

Hi Steve

Yeah, that is a real shocker, how can they justify such a jump in cost ?
Have you tried Hyperformance, i was shocked on how cheap they are......

99 STI Type R....garaged overnight, full ncb,
cat 1 alarm etc. etc... £681-00.....150 excess.

Give em a ring 0990 161616

Paul

Ps..... i have no connection with that company, except being a happy customer!

If you do a search there are plenty of posts regarding insurance.

My company is Catterall Insurance, which I got from here.

Steve, try Mark @ OPI and mention my name. He was £150 cheaper than anywhere else, and less than half Privlidge (sp?).

Count yorselves luck.
Posted on 22B but just to recap MY00 written off in Jan , 3rd parties fault still waiting to be settled.

New premium with class 2 bussines use £4050 from Ibex , after alot of hunting £28000 from Norwich Union through Eggar Lawson.

Still astronomical, better than the selling car just!

Try NFU Mutual, offices around the country. Got the best price with them after many phone calls (renewal with Hyperformance was £708)

£584
5 years NCD
Garaged
Thatcham 2
Standard MY98
3 Points

Perhaps my age had something to do with it.... 40?!!

I can highly recommend them, really helpful.

I have the same problem and this is only for a 1994 WRX Sportwagon, was £900 last year, poicy in my boyfriends name who's 29 'cos they wouldn't quote me, being 24, now I'm 25, silly of me to think the price would reduce!!! Our renewal notice quotes £1550!!, the car isn't garaged, but on a driveway with all the necc security and quite a nice postcode!! Its very scary as we are considering selling now - must be because I'm getting old and too sensible!! Any other suggestions would be v. helpful

Try Barclays direct, cheapest so far for me with renewal next month they also the lowest XS (£100 fixed) and unlimited Hi-Fi cover.

£606 31yrs old, full ncd,no ponts MY99 unmodified. Still £130 more than last year though. NFU didn't work for me as my car is less than 2 years old.

I know this isn't going to be terribly useful but......

Move to New Zealand!! My '91 Legacy RS costs approx 100 pounds per year for full cover, 100 pounds excess and 300 pounds theft excess. My mate's '95 Impreza is only slightly more expensive.

While talking money, did you guys know a brand spanker WRX (std) sells here for about 16K pounds? How about an STi6, or RSK-B4 for about 18K pounds? and the 22B....40K pounds! TOTALLY KOSHER!!!

Prices here are just SOOOOOO cheap!! By the way, I don't work for the immigration service.........
