I have been told but not sure that you may have to pump the brake pedal at least 10 times when you are standing still to get enough fuel into the exhaust

Give the guy a break. He's asked a question you just wanna shoot him down.
I don't know why the classics do this i think its something to do with the ecu.Its very difficult to get a classic to flame without moving it.
YES i have a flamer kit on an 02 sti
The reason
Last car written off by some **** following me to close.
Now when Mr.mondeo or Mr.Vectra is sitting to close behind me on the motorway 70mph ish. I cant go any faster cos of traffic. It only takes one flame,They dont follow so close anymore.
Theres also the fun issue as well

Flamer kits are the devil's trumps. There cannot be a worse, ****ty modification that can be added to a vehicle. I'm just speaking my mind, and there are many that would agree with me.

Every one has the right to make there own choice.
But it doesnt give you the right to call someone else a ***-end because they have a different opinion to you.

'flamer tit' - sorry, 'kits' belong to the world of chavs - it's a shame when cars like Impreza's end up with them. If your car is going to kick flames, it will do it because it does, fake ones aren't big, nor clever and, quite frankly, look stupid...

LOL.... It's amazing how many people read a thread, then keep their thoughts to themselves.....
You're puncturing the bubble of my pomposity, aren't you?

I heard that drilling a teeny (like 1mm) hole in your downpipe would do it, getting oxygen into unburnt fuel in the exhaust = real flames and pops.
my RB5 used to do it for real, from accounts of people behind, not flames like a crappy bunson burner - proper little 'explosions' once in a while. Richard Squires 22B used to do it for real too, not doubt along with countless others.
When they're real - great
When they're not - ****
