Default HPI check and new engine number

I've got a MY98 which may soon be up for sale. A couple of years ago it had a new short engine under warranty due to piston slap.

I've not thought about this until now, but presumably the engine number will not agree with the one known to the DVLA, so an HPI check will come up with a mismatch.

Anyone know the procedure to straighten it out - do I tell the DVLA the new engine number, and then HPI pick it up from there - or what ?

Any advice welcome...

(By the way - is the engine number the one dimly seen under the intercooler ?)

If it was fitted by your dealer he should hve made a note of it in your service book or somewhere like that

Just fill out the V5 document with the new engine number details and send it off to the DVLA.

I don't even think the engine change will show up on the HPI just the engine number itself, so as long as they match it shouldn't be a problem.
