Default Yes, Yes I do own a Subaru...

Why do some Owners feel the need to wear there Subaru ownership about there bodies? Is it showing off or or meerly showing support for the brand to have the Team Jacket the fleece etc? I mean its certainly not a fashion statement. Why is it that some people bypass good taste in order to boast openly to lesser mortals that says to other people that "yes indeed i do own a Subaru"

Yes, you see these rather <ahem> sad people hanging round during top gear shows too

Sort of reminds me of a certain freinds episode.

Mind, my dad is just as bad. He has a Porsche shell suit type jacket. He sold the porker almost 10years ago, yet he still wear this 80's relic of fashion.

I'll burn it one day

I dont have the full gear, just a tee shirt, but I like the style and am proud to have a Subaru and support the team, so when its warm, get the tee shirt on .... oh and its a very good quality piece of kit too
Any thing wrong with that?

I find it a bit sad too. It really hit home when we were sat in a pub at a meet just after Christmas and one of the guys was showing off his new Subaru wallet, keyring, pen, socks, scarf, hat, jacket etc etc...... That and when I pulled in at Well Lane for a sunday morning RR session and the car park was a sea of blue bodies As for the NBO I have a ski hat, 'cos I wear wooly hats in the winter anyway, but I do tend not to wear it to meets instead choosing a plain non-branded one. I think very many people get carried away, to the point of obsession, but I suppose it's no worse than chavy football fans.

Part of the racing heritage I would assume.......so carry on & enjoy wearing those Subaru clothes

Same reason why people buy their England shirts, football kits etc.....

Dont see the resembelance in wearing a football shirt and a subaru jacket. although I wouldnt be caught dead wearing a subaru item of clothing it is my choice and I dont have an opinion of others who do wear them, as said it might have somthing to do with supporting the rally team but football is a completely different thing IMO....

How is it different when all you are doing to showing what you like (support maybe?), its no different than wearing ANY branded t-shirt...be it a foorball team, a band, a clothing co or a car company...live and let live.

Well said that man

It's showing off clothing brands that puzzles me - it's not as though any one of them stands for exceptional comfort, value, style, toughness or any other virtue that's really worthy of display. They're all just famous for being... well, brands!

I've got loads of SWRT stuff, but I can't say I wear it on a regular basis walking down the high street. It mostly comes out for rallies - the quality of the gear is very good - so why not wear it and support the team?

I must admit to wearing the my SWRT heavy jacket when walking the dog in the winter though, as it is the only damn thing that keeps me warm!

I like wearing subaru gear or rather Subaru World Rally Team (SWRT) as i don't mind wearing bright coloured clothing as im that way inclined. plus it is performance clothing and it does seem to do its job very well compared to names like Berghaus and the likes.

I don't own a subaru, i used to, (Justy )

Because when I joined up I had a VW R32, rubbish car, paint problems to the max, wanted an STi but didnt think I could afford it until VW gave me all my money back. And although you can change your pass word I dont think you can change your user name without going back to zero.

C'mon its just a tee shirt with a small logo, all your kit plain then?

What about Subaru pants? Even if it is just for anti-skid technology.

The time to really worry is when our good friends, the Chavs, abandon Burberry and Timberland, only to replace them with Subaru!!!

If there is soo much discussion about people wearing clothing, surely it would be logical to point the finger towards people decalling their cars to look like the rally cars as this has a substantially greater impact on the general public perception of those people. Surely that's the football equivalent of me getting a strong all over tan, getting my hair dyed black, put into plaights (sp?) and wearing a Rio Ferdinand shirt every hour of the day???

I love football but I don't wear my teams shirt every day let alone mimic the club or players...

Although I havnt got the full matching Subaru clothing range, I have just bought my 3yr old the hat and scarf set and have to say the quality is $hit hot.

It dont see it any differently to a dedicated footy suporter wanting to have his teams replica clothing or product line on display.

When we go to watch the rallies over here or abroad there are thousands of suporters wearing the their chosen teams clothing.

Hardly a couple of blokes with cord jackets standing on bridge waiting for the BGH1324 from Edinbrough is it

If thats their bag fine, Subaru rally and road car fans choose to wear this sort of thing because they can and most of them are proud to do so. Simple really.

I have the Subaru WRC rally shirt which I bought cause I liked the design and I supported the team (I go to WRC events so like to show what team I support). When I bought it I didnt have a Scooby at the time, but I dont wear it when I'm driving my Scooby!

Personally I'd rather let the car do the advertising! :-) It's also nice to surprise people with what you drive. Can't see much wrong with wearing a simple T-shirt or such though!

Best.

I've got the Jacket - the GF bought me it last Christmas. I like it - I couldn't give a toss if everyone else doesn't!

When I go out for lunch half the town seems to have a Ford M-Sport fleece on (about 2 miles away) so I think I need to even things up...
