Dont suppose anybody knows any site where you can trace the owners address by the car reg. just wondered as seen an mint car for sale but missed contact number as I was in the other direction. Never seen it again and wanted to have a look and hopefully buying it

Sorry but you wont be able to find the owners address unless you apply to the DVLA and pay the fee (about £3 I think) but then your request will be rejected as its not suitable justification for releasing the info.

I wouldn't encourage anyone to supply this information to people asking or to suggest where to get it from.

Steve2k, Let us know what area you saw the car, and give a good description. Somebody may know of it and could tell the owner to contact you.

I CAN SEE YOUR POINT
The car was M386 LUP which is a Honda prelude 2.2 vtech(quite rare)
I think it belongs down Hartlepool or sorrounding areas
Been looking at other cars since looks like this one got away.

Just tried the reg number on the RAC site and nothing comes back. Still, it's not 100% accurate anyway. My reg number has been on my car for a year and it's still not recognised on the site!

RAC will only tell you previous owner info. It won't give you all their personal details.

i.e. my car reg only shows it has had 0 previous owners and when I had it registered from new. Also just clarifies the basic make/model info, nothing more.
