Question 05 PPP

OK Fellas,
I notice that the o5 ppp is supposedly not available yet?.If this correct then there must be differences in the engines or the ppp itself otherwise the o4 ppp should fit?.Is this correct?.Regards, SIMON.

There is usually a delay in PPP availability, at least there has been the last few years if I recall correctly.

How do people know that it is not available - is this because the dealers are saying this? The only reason I ask is that on the Subaru website for MY05, the PPP is still listed as an option, and on the Prodrive site, again they only list MY03 onwards, ie MY03, 04 and potentially 05?
Just wanted to see if this was heresay or indeed what dealers/Subaru were actually saying? Thanks

I thought the engines where exactly the same, cos the press release doesnt mention any differences. If they made improvements to the engine they would of said so.
So 05 PPP must be the same as 03 and 04.

If Prodrive have confirmed that there is no PPP for the 05 model, then that must mean they are developing a new/different pack as we speak?.If the 04 PPP was the same then surely they could supply that kit for the 05 model?.Unless they have run out of PPPs,then it appears that there must be some differences somewhere?>Regards, SIMON.

they are likely trying to shift the o4 ppp before releasing the 05ppp as if people want a ppp they will have to buy old stock 04 ,it is likely the 05ppp will be based on wr1 map

Ive decided that the "no ppp on 05's" is a huge ploy/scam by the WR1 owners...

Wink

I very much doubt Prodrive are into Ploys/Scams They are 'employed/Contracted' by IM to Produce/supply PPP etc. for UKDM. More likely a Ploy by IM.They might think Peeps will be happy to be fobbed of with a MY04STiPPP than a MY05STi without. IMHO

If your happy with that if not Just tell them you'll rather have an EVOFQ, STi05Litchfield import or a STi05 import &TSL333 that a MY05Sti without PPP . This pressure put on Dealers/IM by potential owners may speed up the Process.

Ps the longest 6 month of my life waiting for my MY02PPP

You guys can make up quite a good story between you......

We are currently checking out the 05STi and the Performance Package and other parts will be available very soon. No conspiracy, just checking things out thoroughly.

Surely Prodrive have to break to the 301bhp barrier for the 2005 STi PPP now that Mitsubushi have 3 models in the MR range that are 300bhp +

What I mean is they should be more aggressive and sell a couple of "packs" instead of one version maybe a 315bhp package and also a 330bhp version.

At the moment our 305PS PPP is equivalent to Mitsi's bottom of the range MR300 Lancer, in fact the MR300 is probably closer to 310bhp according to dyno results posted over at the MLR.

I collected my 05 STi last Friday and asked the dealer about PPP, nothing avaiable at the moment, but I was told that it is likely to be the same as the WR1 PPP.

Hope So

On the other hand, I Had my PPP fitted only a few months back to my sti, and it does feel quicker and smoother than any other I've driven.

Did the garage fit a WR1 ecu to my car I wonder hmmmm

04 map was different from the 03 due to a revised engine loom among other things ie different ECM features & parameters (isnt that correct mike )

05 will again be different as there will be an upgrade ecm (same part no just slightly beefed up)

It will come

Top tip if you can't afford PPP yet - drive a slow car for a bit.

By the time I get my car back hopefully at the end of this week, I'll have been driving a very comfortable but slow Toyota Avensis for a fortnight.

So my WRX will feel like its got the PPP fitted anyway
