Default Standard 03 WRX power figs... from rolling road

Hi

Has anyone had their standard WRX on the rollers?

Just had my 03 WRX on the rollers with TEK3 map and wondered what the comparisons are.

Thanks

Perhaps if you tell us what yours made then you might get some "comparisons"

Well its not standard but my car made:

268.3bhp and 330Nm.

I want to know what standard cars produce on the rollers to see what sort of gain I have made.

I appreciate what you are after but the essence of the word "comparison" is that you are giving a figure to compare standard cars to.

Good power and torque btw.

Hi

Yes agree, but as I did not get my car RR'd before my mods I will have to settle for someone elses results.

I dont particularly trust the ones that subaru publish.

I think its fair to say that your car will bhave been slightly under Subaru's factory quoted figures for power and torque as many cars seem to fall short causing their owners to think that they have got a "bad-un" when in actual fact it is simply down to being unable to replicate the conditions under which I.M. test the engines power/torque.

Have a look here to see if there are any comparable models for you....

Cheers for the above.

Nothing really standard but a couple are not too far off.

I would still be interested to hear anyones standard figs.

What do you all think about my torque?

I think its a bit low?

If a PPP gives you 265bhp and retains warranty, and a Tek3 gives you 268bhp and voids warranty why on earth do people risk losing 3 yrs warranty for the sake of 3 extra horses?
Surely a PPP is a no brainer...?

I think that in general terms, the same power hike as PPP can be had for around 50% of the cost if done yourself.

I appreciate that PPP retains warranty, but all of the parts are interchangeable if you *REALLY* had to swap them back to have your faulty brakes or suspension looked over!

330nm isn't bad at all.

IIRC, standard torque is quoted at 300Nm and PPP claims to produce 348Nm so you are still 30Nm up on standard although slightly behind the claimed Prodrive figures.

Your power is in PPP territory though.

Ok well I know of a few .......

Mine has Prodrive backbox and did 252bhp + 235lb/ft at low miles and 260bhp + 240lb/ft more recently (and yes - witnessed by loads on here)!
Andy's did 229bhp as standard and 273bhp with just an APS sports cat exhaust.
I think most come in between 228 and 240bhp!

Mine was 238 BHP and about 230 torque with just a backbox when pretty new on DEAD ON conservative rollers. STI's on te day were hitting 262/264 BHP etc so WRX's seem to be a bit up on manufacturers staed power - just like the ratings they get on the classics etc - conservative.

mine made 248/234 and 252/251 with around 12000 miles on the clock and just a backbox and filter.

Mine gets tek'd on the 18th with all the new bits ive got then we shall see 320/300

Default WRX Y REG

A typical newbie question but relevant to me nonetheless.
Could some knowledgable one please tell me the typical bhp figure for a Y reg WRX Estate.
This will help solve an argument at work.
Many thanks

On a new car PPP is the way to go IMHO, but my car is 18 months old and I have 18 months warranty left.

My spec is

Green Filter
H&S Decat downpipe
H&S Back Box
TEK3

The chap who mapped my car is very knowledgable and estimated my power to be 270bhp, so he was almost spot on!

He did say however, if I took it to a certain rolling road I would see 280bhp, or maybe more! Not sure why but he has seen it many, many times.

I am very happy with my results, and I have saved over £700 over the PPP.
