Question New Forester

A pal of mine who can only drive automatics, asked me about the new Forester turbo. Does anyone know when they're likely to be in the showrooms, and more importantly, whether there will be an auto model?

According to the Subaru press release the forester 2.5 XT is only offered as a manual but I assume you could import an automatic

i pdi'ed a new 2.0l forester turbo today in auto form. and i think they have a sub built in as standard in the boot, as well as a 6 disc changer head unit and a big visual gear display. they have also made the dash cubby box deeper. haven't driven one yet so can't comment on how it drives.

A friend of mine has a 2.5XT with an auto tranny over here in the States. It's the fastest grocery-getter ever. Naturally, I can't comment on UK availability, but it would be suprising if the auto weren't availble there as well.

As I said earlier the new 2.5XT is only to be offered as a manual according to the subaru press release.
Auto box models only seem to be available from outside the UK.

I'm looking forward to getting a test drive in the 2.5XT, looks to be a real 'sleeper car' as some people put it.

The STI is a bit too OTT
