Question strange wagon quirks?

hi

my turbo wagon has no roof rails . Were they a factory option? It's a uk spec MY95 with no visible signs of ever being fitted.
Also the indicators do not self cancel. Is this normal?

cheers

Hi Joolz,

It may be that the pin, which is part of the indicator stalk mechanism has been snapped off. It's possible to be inventive with small drills and say 12mm of round, wire nail. Otherwise it's a trip to the dealer for another stalk.

Either way you need to hook the steering wheel off to get to the mechanism.

Re Indicator cancelling - I heard that some were fitted with a switch the wrong way round & if turned round / over the indicators would work as supposed to. Could all be rubbish, but perhaps some truth in it?
by the way MY95 UK wagon with roof bars & tempromental indicator cancel also

Hi Vindaloo

Thanks for that , will have to have a poke about behind the steering column when i get some daylight hours ie this weekend.
BTW Anyone recommend a good jap breakers? I have always run VAG and wanted an S2 but couldn't find a decent one without starship mileage for less than £6k so bought 1995 Wagon, 2 owner UK Turbo, FSSH 89K, cambelt service at 84k , £3800. 800 miles later still well pleased
Last but not least , good to hear from some wagon owners !!!
